Jana Novotná was a Czech professional tennis player. She was ranked world No. 2 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), achieved in July 1997, and as the world No. 1 in women's doubles for 67 weeks. Novotná won 24 WTA Tour–level singles titles, including the 1998 Wimbledon Championships, and was runner-up in three other singles majors. She also won twelve major women's doubles titles, four major mixed doubles titles, and three Olympic medals.
