The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act is a United States federal law enacted in 1975 that requires most mortgage lenders to collect and publicly disclose data about their lending activity. The law is implemented by Regulation C, administered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) on behalf of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC).
