The Diocese of Monterey in California is a diocese of the Catholic Church in the Central Coast region of California. It comprises Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo and Santa Cruz counties. The mother church is the Cathedral of San Carlos Borromeo in Monterey. The diocese is home to seven of California's 21 Franciscan missions, more than any other California diocese.
