Bruce Bernard Smith is an American former professional football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 19 seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills. He played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies, winning the Outland Trophy in 1984. Smith was selected by the Bills first overall in the 1985 NFL draft.
