Juan Carlos Ferrero Donat is a Spanish sports coach and a former professional tennis player. He was ranked as the world No. 1 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), achieved in September 2003. Ferrero won 16 ATP Tour–level singles titles, including a major at the 2003 French Open and four Masters events. He was also runner-up at the 2002 French Open and 2003 US Open. He was nicknamed el Mosquito for his speed and slender physical build.
